Dad's Arrival

Today Dad came to visit us. We are in front of the rock fountain which has russian memorial behind us. It is very windy in Vienna.

After we went to a church with Trajan's columns which belong in Rome. It was made with copper so it has a blue green color.

This is the "GOLDEN CABBAGE". It  is not really called that but Viennese people says it looks like a golden cabbage. It is a famous architectural exhibit hall.

We went to a famous apartment building. It is covered with pink flowers. It has a white building with gold next to it. You can see a little bit of it on the right. We forgot to load the picture onto the blog.

You are looking at a close up of the apartment building.

I am in front of the Natural History Museum. I came here yesterday with my aunt Chelsea. I got grossed out in part of it.

For lunch I had a hot chocolate with a lot of cream. I have been having hot chocolate every day in Vienna. It has been cold so that is why I have been having it in the summer. The cream was an inch thick.

This was the ceiling at the cafe. It used to be a place where all the artist hung out. They were allowed to smoke in there and it got very foggy. Now artists are not the same and you are not allowed to smoke  in there.

This was what my dad ate. It was fish with cauliflower sauce and cauliflower. It was delicious.

This was my desert. It was chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, then chocolate cake with cherry jam in side. I did not like the jam.  I did not know it was going to be in there. But my dessert was still pretty. Ever since I have been here I have been eating chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake in all of my desserts, in that order. We eat a lot of dessert in Vienna.

This is a knoodle. My dad got this for dessert. It is a fried pastry with powdered sugar on top and it had apricot jam in side.

After the cafe we went to Stephensdom. It is Effervescent Gothic. That means it is gothic but very colorful gothic. It is the famous cathedral in Vienna.

We climbed to the top and saw this. We climbed 343 steps in a spiral on very thin steps to get to the top. We could have taken the elevator and went to the shorter tower but we wanted to go to the taller tower. It made my aunt very frustrated with my mom. I love climbing towers.

This is what the roof looked like. This is what we mean by effervescence. We forgot to put a picture of the example tile. It is plaster painted with a glazed paint.

We went to the Hunterwasser museum. He was this crazy architect. Do you see the tree growing out of the window:)

This was the fountain on the inside. The stones in it are from all over the world.

These were the kooky steps up to the top. The floor was very bumpy. We were not allowed to take pictures of the artwork so this is all we can show you.

This was a building in Hunterwasser city. He does not really have a city. It is just a neighborhood.
